The ink comes last

In a print shop, the colour is the final decision, not the first.

Printers decide the layout, then the paper, then the type. Only at the very end do they choose the ink. It is a good order of work for any design.

Constraints first

Choosing colour last keeps it honest. It has to work with everything else, rather than everything else having to work around it.
