A white volume with a few windows is the hardest thing to build well. Every joint shows, every stain shows, every bad window proportion shows.

Shadows do the drawing

On a clear day the sun draws the building for you. Its edges, recesses and openings appear as clean shadows, and the plain box becomes a composition.
